SOLES 4 SOULS

There’s nothing like a good old pair of shoes that you can put to good use…Soles4Souls is a non-profit organization that started in 2004, they coordinate the donation of shoes to those in need across the globe. Individuals, retailers, and companies are eligible to donate shoe and all donors will receive tax advantages. Their mission is to impact as many lives as possible with the gift of shoes. Shoes of every type may be donated from stilettos to sandals to sleek running shoes. They may be gently worn and they will even just take one shoe rather than a pair. In other words, they take it all!

In the past they collaborated with many companies and individuals with a strong effort to receive donations for natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and Rita, and the Asian Tsunami. After Hurricane Katrina 750,000 pairs of shoes were donated to individuals living in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama since many were left with close to nothing. Each pair of shoe has their own individual story. Currently, they are working in over 125 countries, and in 45 states. Soles 4 Souls has even followed the “Go Green” trend. Last year, over 300 million pairs of shoes were thrown away. When they break down in the landfills the toxic glue that holds them together can leak into a water supply and the atmosphere. So by donating shoes you’re helping the environment and those in need!
