Elizabeth Taylor’s designer handbags go to auction

Elizabeth Taylor’s extensive collection of designer handbags, including Hermes, Balenciaga, Christian Dior, Chanel, Fendi, Cartier, Louis Vuitton and more, was previewed today in anticipation of an upcoming auction by Christie’s to be held at Rockefeller Center. “The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor” will be held beginning on Tuesday, December 13 and run through Friday, December 16, 2011. Each day will offer a different group of luxurious items once owned by the Hollywood ledged and philanthropist. There is also an ongoing, online auction of Elizabeth Taylor’s luxurious items, which is currently in its sixth session, and runs December 3-17, 2011 at Christies.com.

Elizabeth Taylor’s extensive handbag collection offers pieces from almost every luxury designer imaginable. The handbags from Elizabeth Taylor’s handbag collection are expected to sell for well over retail value as many of the handbags are limited edition, one-of-a-kind or vintage.
