Australian sculpture Ron Mueck creates amazing life-like human sculptures. Early on in his career, Ron Mueck started out working in children’s television shows and then moved on to working in special effects. He is an uber talented artist who is blowing the minds of exhibit goers. He is the creator of many mysterious and ‘largely’ exhilarating life like human sculptures, pun intended.
These incredible sculptures are amazing and looking at them is mind boggling. It appears that they are going to come alive when you least expect it. Each piece serves more attention to detail than the last and each is extraordinary. I bet you are wondering how in the world these sculptures are created to look so real. Mueck uses fiberglass and silicone to construct each sculpture; which is done so that human hair can be punched in by a sharp needle, one by one.
Ron Mueck’s sculptures meticulously detail the human form. His sculptures range from very tiny to massive, but they are never life-sized. He does this to play around with the visual senses. Starting January 2010 (through April 2010), a major exhibition of Mueck’s work will be featured at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) in Australia.
